How to change the thesis copyright year?

Hello folks,

I want to change the copyright year of my thesis from the current year 2007 to 2008. The class file uses "\number\year" to get the current year. How do I affect it so as to add 1 to 2007?

thanks for reading my post; I solved the problem by "discovering" that the
change of the year variable was done in another file. So it was not a problem in the first place... so very stupid of me. Thank you for your time nevertheless.
